Early Evening Tours & Carols around the Tree

Lord and Lady Carnarvon are delighted to welcome Patrons & Friends to experience a Highclere Christmas. Join us for an exclusive evening to explore the Castle and enjoy Champagne and Canapés, before gathering around the tree to sing Christmas carols.

Please note, the maximum booking size is two tickets, per one Patrons or Friends of Highclere membership.

There is no concession rate available for this event.

Guests will be warmly welcomed into the Saloon, the very heart of the Castle with the log fires burning for a special welcome hosted by Lady Carnarvon.

Discover the enchantment of Christmas at Highclere - from the glittering festive trees to the sweeping stair garlands and exquisite floral displays as you enjoy Champagne and Canapés throughout this festive evening.

Wander through the beautifully decorated State Rooms, ascend the historic Oak Staircase, explore the elegant bedrooms, and perhaps channel your inner Lord or Lady Grantham as you take in the splendour of Christmas at the Castle.

Your visit continues with a descent into Highclere’s atmospheric cellars to explore the Egyptian Exhibition. Here you will learn more about the world-famous discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun by the 5^th Earl of Carnarvon and Howard Carter.

At the end of the evening, gather around our magical Christmas Tree and sing with us to mark the beginning of Christmas.

There will be a chance to purchase from our Gift Shop - the perfect opportunity to stock up on Christmas gifts! Your ticket includes a Friends of Highclere gift bag, containing a signed copy of Lady Carnarvon’s book, "Christmas at Highclere". If you have this book already, we are happy to offer an alternative, please ask on the day. Please remember to collect this before you depart, as these cannot be posted out after the event. Please note that the tours around the Castle for this event are self-guided, with our guides on hand throughout the evening to answer questions.

The Grounds will open for this event no earlier than 3:30pm. Please do keep this in mind when arranging travel or booking a taxi, as we do not have a sheltered waiting-area.

We will have a variety of Canapés to suit all tastes (including Vegetarian options) served throughout the evening (please note, we are unable to accommodate additional dietary requests for this event).

Please note that we are unable to guarantee that our products are either DAIRY FREE or NUT FREE.
