Summer Public Opening 2027

Tickets are available for the Castle, Egyptian Exhibition & Gardens during the Summer as follows:

Sunday 11^th July 2027 – Thursday 2^nd September 2027. 

We are closed to the public on Friday and Saturday each week. Please read through the information below. Availability can be viewed on the calendar at the foot of this page.

Ticket Prices: 

There is no need to book a ticket for under 4s. Children of this age will be admitted free of charge.

There are three admission times. Please note you are welcome to enter the Castle at any time within your booked window. In order to book, please choose a date on the selector below, followed by a ticket type, then your admission time to the Castle. We look forward to seeing you. 

•    Morning Admission:       Admission between 10:00am – 12:30pm  

•    Midday Admission:        Admission between 12:30pm – 2:30pm 

•    Afternoon Admission:   Admission between 2:00pm – 4:00pm.

Last entry to the Castle is 3.30pm. if you have chosen the afternoon admission, please do visit the Gardens and Cafés beforehand and enter nearer 2:00pm to make the most of your time in the Castle. 

Regardless of your ticket timing, you are welcome to visit the Gardens, Tearooms and Gift Shop throughout the day.  The Gardens, Tearooms and Gift Shop all close at 5pm and the park gates at 5:30pm.

Tours of the Castle and Egyptian Exhibition are on a self-guided basis, with guides throughout to provide information and assistance.

PICNIC AFTERNOON TEAS

We are pleased to offer an opportunity to combine your visit to Highclere Castle with our "Picnic Afternoon Tea for Two" - a selection of delicious cakes, scones and sandwiches with a Half Bottle of Joseph Perrier Champagne served in a beautiful box.

We offer a Standard Menu, Vegetarian Menu and a Gluten-Free Menu. These menu options apply to the entire Picnic Box. We are unable to offer mixed menus within one Box. We cannot guarantee that our products are either dairy free or nut free. For details on our Menus for "Picnic Afternoon Tea", please click  HERE.

If you wish to add a “Picnic Afternoon tea for Two” to your order, you can select this add-on option below. Please note, this is subject to availability. Our Picnic Boxes are £89 for two people.

We also offer seated Champagne Afternoon Tea during the month of August.  These can be booked in a package with admission tickets, please click HERE to go to the ticket page. (Please note you cannot add on afternoon tea to tickets purchased from this page. They must be bought as a package).

Your tickets are sent by email at the end of the purchase. Please do check your "junk" folder. A copy of your tickets will also be left in your account in this website for you to print whenever you choose before you arrive here.

As you checkout, there are a number of reminders that the tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable.

Please note that neither dogs (guide dogs excepted), other animals nor picnics are allowed within the Grounds.
